There is a home teeth whitening, is one of the treatments we offer at the Carlos Acevedo Dental Center. We take oral samples to create comfortable, ultra-thin splints that you can apply at home. Don't worry, a professional will guide you to ensure effective treatment. These splints are pre-filled with a special whitening gel. The treatment can last between 2 and 4 weeks, and the results are extraordinary.

Another type of whitening is the one that is performed with halogen or LED lightBefore performing this procedure, your dentist will perform an evaluation to inform you of the number of sessions required to successfully complete your teeth whitening treatment. They will also determine if you are suitable for this treatment. The procedure begins with a cleaning of your teeth. Measurements will be taken to create custom trays that will hold the whitening gel, ensuring it is distributed evenly. The trays will prevent the gel from coming into contact with the gums. Light energy facilitates the treatment; however, it is not responsible for whitening; light is merely an activator. In fact, in our office, you'll find that we also use products that don't require light, and the results are excellent.  

Advantages and disadvantages

The results of professional teeth whitening are immediate, and there are no contraindications, except for pregnant women or people allergic to whitening materials. It's normal to experience some sensitivity in the hours following treatment, as the gel used contains glycerin, which may cause some discomfort.
